please clarify this point for me, when I use your script can I let the customer pay with a cardless and can I use my phone as a card reader?

Hi agharaafat,

No, it won’t. You would need a card reader connected to a computer and our terminal open on some web browser. Then clicking the credit card field and after that swiping card through card reader may work, as some of our clients indicated. This product is not intended for such use though – we designed/developed it for online payments.

Hello Critical Gears,

I had asked questions on your other Wordpress Plugin last week where it only accepted PayPal Pro with the other credit card providers, but may I ask just to make sure that this plugin currently supports Stripe and Paypal standard (non paying version) for Wordpress?

Also as a second thought, is it one or the other type of processing, or can both options work side by side like some of the other php versions I had where the customer chooses PayPal or Stripe, and then proceeds from there?

Just do not want to make an error before purchasing.

Thanks, Doljr

Hi,

To uninstall the plugin you need to deactivate it in plugins section and then delete. Then download the latest version from CodeCanyon and upload the plugin archive file through the Plugins section in your WP. For any other support questions – please open support ticket through criticalgears.io/support-tickets

Yes thank you, that is what I meant when I said I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I had done all that, yet somehow it still populated data fields from the previous install, that is what I didn’t understand how that could be possible unless there were files remaining I hadn’t known about.

I will try again. Have a good day.

Deleted and uploaded this time via ftp, and after activation, all of the settings fields still hold data from previous installs. Uninstalling the plugin is not somehow deleting all of the files somewhere unless a cache can hold this information.

I’ll have to register and open support ticket. – Thanks.

If a customer has a Stripe subscription, but then the next month their credit card is empty and Stripe fails to charge their card and marks their subscription as Cancelled, will Stripe send some kind of signal to my wordpress site via your plugin?

I basically need a way to automatically change the Wordpress role of a user that stopped paying their monthly Stripe subscription (I am not talking about someone who cancelled their subscription, but simply stopped having money on their card).

Currently I am doing it manually, I check my Stripe subscriptions dashboard, I see who didn’t pay their invoice and then I go into my Wordpress Dashboard > Users and I change the role of that user from Subscriber to Customer.

I have the PHP code that once placed in a page, will change the wordpress user role of a logged-in visitor from Subscriber to Customer, but I don’t know how to couple it with someone who stopped paying their Stripe subscription.

1) Custom work: can you make the payment terminal to look like the official Stripe checkout page (or at least very similar): https://prnt.sc/Rv1cY-98GvRs? (without all the billing information and the unnecessary personal details that are requested from the client). If yes, how much time would it take you and how much money would it cost?

2) If I start using this plugin today, can I import 8 active subscriptions that I already have in my Stripe account and if they manually cancel their subscription to have it automatically cancelled on my wordpress website? or does it work only with the future subscriptions that will be created through your plugin?

3) Custom work: can you make it so that when a user cancels their Stripe subscription from the Stripe Subscription Portal, it sends a signal to my wordpress website and it automatically changes the role of that user from “Subscriber” back to “Customer”? If yes, how much time would it take you and how much money would it cost?

1. Yes.

2. Subscription must originate through our terminal, otherwise – they won’t be tracked.

3. Yes.

For custom development – please reach out through codecanyon profile form. Thank you

Thanks a lot for your answers!

If my customers create monthly Stripe subscriptions through this plugin, will Stripe charge their cards automatically when the date is due? I am currently using Stripe subscriptions, but without any plugin or coding, I just use their interface for my users and Stripe charges their cards automatically when its due date. Will that happen through your plugin?

Yes, our plugin only creates initial subscription in Stripe – then it’s up to stripe to charge your customer recurring charges.

That’s great! Thank you!

Hi! If I use this plugin and the customer cancels their Stripe subscription, can I redirect the customer to a custom URL of my choice?

Good day,

Customers can cancel their subscription using the link in the email that they receive upon subscription initiation. When they click it – they land on the page on your website which requires customers to confirm the intent to cancel by clicking a button. You can edit that page through code or edit the subscription cancellation code to redirect the customer after they click that button. This would require custom code editing so you have to be proficient in PHP/WP code.

Thank you! This meets my requirements. I just have to place a little php code that changes the Wordpress role of the user that landed on the cancellation page.

How do I edit the form? I want a different heading and a field for invoice number

Hi dreamsight,

At the moment, you’d need to edit the plugin PHP files in order to change the form. We’ve added your request for a invoice number field to our todo list.

Hi, sorry I have changed domain is possible reset my licenses. Thank you

Hi

Yes, it is possible through support ticket at criticalgears.io/support-tickets

How can I add service charge fee of 3% ?

Hi jfn99,

We received your support ticket and will reply shortly.

Hello. The email sent to the customer has errors in the special characters. The email sent to admin is ok. What is your email so I can send you screenshots? Regards

Update Sorry, this question is related to Stripe Payment Terminal (not Wordpress)

I just purchased

I don’t want to have the billing Information section in the forms, And I didn’t find anywhere in the plugin setting to remove that section. Please assist

I have found 3 bugs so far

1) I’m unable to generate the button from “Button Generator”, when I click nothing happened. 2) When I am generating the forma, I select the service=”false” but the service still showing in the forms. 3) I select the Recurring payment to be false, but it is still showing the billing period in the generated form.

Hi eliv3n,

There is an issue with the package available on codecanyon – it has a breaking typo in the jQuery. This will be fixed in next release. In the meantime we are sending a bug-fix to customers who purchase the current version.

We’ve replied to your support ticket.

how can I pass the amount and description in the URL?

for example; ?amount=100&item_description=22154655

This method only works for the amount, how should I pass the description?

It’s a pre-order question as I only try the above on the live demo.

Just confirming that this plugin keeps the user on the website the entire time, and doesn’t redirect them to stripe at all?

Hi thesaberteam,

That is correct, user does not leave your website to submit the payment.

Hi, Before I purchase please answer. Can I connect physical card machine with this script so customer can self pay in Shop kiosk , if yes which card machine will work for taking payment from customer in person.

Hi kiranbheda,

Thank you for your interest in our product.

Unfortunately, we have never tested such scenario. We had a customer who claimed that he attached a card reader and it read the card’s number into our terminal – however we can’t confirm it for you.

Good luck with your sales

I’m interested in purchasing this product or even the standalone version.

Do this plugin or the standalone provide customer dashboard? So they can update their info such cc or even cancel their account.

Will this slow down my WordPress website?

It will cost $49 initially.

Where’s the product page? So $49 annually?

It’s not going to be available through codecanyon. It will be sold through our own site which is in the process of being updated. If you want to try out the demo – please contact us through the codecanyon profile form.

The price is for the product and 1 year of updates. If you want updates after that – you will need to renew the license.

I have activated the plugin and configured to my liking.

Payments are received however the name, email and comments from the person are not showing at all.

Also once a payment is made there are no emails being sent to the client or ourselves.

Please could you help sort this out.

Hi adminben, Thank you for purchasing our product! Please open support ticket at https://www.criticalgears.com/support-tickets/ and we will be happy to assist.

Hello, I see people asked many years ago about giving customer ability to choose the currency. Is it still the case that this is not a feature of your plug-in? For the customer to enter an amount and select a currency? This would be very necessary for certain use scenarios, such as sending out invoices to customers in various countries, and providing a payment terminal for the customer to pay the invoice. The custom needs to be able to enter their invoice number, amount, and select a currency. Is this possible?

Hi there. It’s now two years later, and I wanted to check if this is still the case, that the customer can’t enter the currency they are paying in?

If not, is this a feature you would consider adding?

Obviously Stripe supports payment in any of their accept currencies, so there’s no practical reason to have one particular currency hard-locked in through an Admin option on the back end. It’s totally viable to allow the full range of currencies on the front-end.

For businesses who have customers in multiple countries, and invoices those customers in their local currency, it’s necessary to allow the customer to select the currency they are paying in, since it will vary.

I was using another payment terminal plugin I bought on CodeCanyon, which had this feature. That plug-in is no longer developed, and as of recently it no longer works (uses outdate API method which Stripe doesn’t accept). So I am looking for a replacement.

Thanks.

Great. I just logged into your demo, and I see there is now support for multiple-currencies, and the customer can select the currency on the front end.

Although I see there’s also a Currency Converter which is a required setting.

1. Does that mean the conversion is done in the plugin, and then passed through to Stripe in a default currency only?

I’m curious what you see the advantage of that is? Why not charge the customer in the currency they selected, and pass the payment request through to Stripe in that selected currency, and then let Stripe handle the conversion on their end? That’s the normal way of going about it.

2. One more question. Where is the option to allow the customer to enter a custom amount? I don’t see any way to allow that. It appears the customer must select an item, and that item must have an amount associated with it. How do we simply allow the customer to not deal with items, but to just enter an amount, select the currency, and then add a note (such as to reference the invoice they are paying which I sent them directly, not via the payment app)?

I look forward to reading your thoughts on both questions.

Thanks.

Hi InspiredEarth

Not sure if we’re looking at the same product – the product you are commenting on – Stripe Payment Terminal WordPress – does not have option for customers to select currency and does not have any currency converters.

You are probably talking about our standalone Stripe Payment Terminal – https://codecanyon.net/item/stripe-payment-terminal/3710600

In our standalone payment terminal – customers can select the currency, if admin enables this feature. Admin can also send the invoice in ANY currency and that invoice will not be a subject to currency conversion by the API – it will go directly to Stripe, in the currency of the invoice. As for the front-end currency conversion API – this was something that was added long time ago and the reasoning was that Stripe required the bank account in the respective amount in order to pay out the USD for example, to the Canadian Stripe account (if you opened Stripe in Canada, and wanted to accept USD currency – you would need to add your bank account in USD currency. If you didn’t have one, you wouldn’t be able to accept USD). So, for that reason currency converter for the front-end was added through a 3rd party API – it allows to accept any currency on the front-end and yet receive all the funds into the same bank account on the Stripe end. Again, this was something that was implemented quite some time ago, and something may have changed on Stripe side regarding processing currencies other than your account. We may revise this feature in future, though it is not on our roadmap at the moment, due to lack of interest from customers regarding this particular feature.

As for your second question – Terminal type must be set to “Donations” or “customer inputs amount” in the settings.

Hi,

We have a wordpress website and looking to add an option for users to donate using stripe as a single donation and also monthly subscription amount. We want to have the amount set by the user. Is this possible? To have a payment for where customers enters amount, be it a one off payment or recurring payment, the frequency ie monthly, and then enteres their details and it processes?

Does it then send the user a receipt? Please advise

Hi Cloud9, thank you for your interest! Yes, the user can make single or recurring donations with a custom amount. Yes, the customer is getting a receipt via email.

Thank you. Can you also confirm the user does not have to be logged in to make the donations? It can just sit on a page and be processed without logging into wordpress?

Confirming that the user does not have to be logged in to make the donations.

Is this an SCA-ready product now?

Hi SCA, Thank you for your interest. It has SCA support for single payments.

Is there a stylesheet.css file included for customizing the UI? Thanks!

Hi perfectword,

Thanks for your interest in our product.

Yes, it comes with the stylesheet which you can edit to your needs. In the new version which will be released this week – there will be an option to edit the css through admin backend (also new design for both, front and back end)
